Uruguay have named their final 26-man roster for the 2024 Copa América, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 14. The squad was announced by manager Marcelo Bielsa on Wednesday, July 6, 2024, less than a month before the tournament is set to begin.
Uruguay are in Group A for the tournament, along with Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. They will open their campaign against Argentina on June 14 in Philadelphia, before facing Bolivia on June 18 in Nashville and Chile on June 22 in East Rutherford.
Bielsa's squad is a mix of experienced players and up-and-coming stars. The team is captained by Barcelona midfielder Fede Valverde, who is one of the most promising young players in the world. Other key players include Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani, Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, and Atlético Madrid defender José Giménez.
Uruguay are one of the favorites to win the Copa América, along with Argentina and Brazil. They have won the tournament 15 times, more than any other nation.
